Adventhealth Mission Control Improves Care Coordination

Launched in 2019, AdventHealth’s Mission Control is driving improvements across 11 hospitals in Central Florida. Here, Command Center technology processes 600,000 data messages each day with 14 artificial intelligence apps, providing AdventHealth with a live view of the emergency rooms, inpatient floors, outpatient centers and other services.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning are applied to reveal patterns and forecast future needs, providing operations and care teams with the insights they need to take action. Patient flow is streamlined, decreasing care delays and improving clinical outcomes.
Improvements reported by AdventHealth include ER beds assigned 15 minutes faster; admission to bed placement time decreased by more than 23 minutes; lateral transfer due to overcapacity increased more than 600 percent; the transfer center's phone call abandonment rate decreased by 5 percent; and transport times for interhospital transfers have decreased more than 15 minutes.
