Florida Medical Association Features AdventHealth Command Center Innovation

As part of a video showcasing innovation, the Florida Medical Association toured AdventHealth Central Florida Division’s 12,000 square-foot high-tech command center. Called Mission Control, the command center uses data that is updated every three to five seconds to forecast capacity across 18 emergency departments, including 11 hospitals. With better tracking of every patient – anywhere between 2,400 and 2,600 on a given day – AdventHealth has improved the quality of care for patients across the system.

“I’m impressed by how AdventHealth Mission Control not only manages the clinical aspects of patient care, but it also encompasses the non-clinical components, such as environmental services, nutrition, and transportation,” said Joshua Lenchus, D.O., president of the Florida Medical Association. “Each of these play a vital role in moving patients efficiently through the hospital system.”
