A new command center is helping The Queen’s Health System manage patients across the islands reported Hawaii News Now. The technology is also helping manage statewide capacity. Data from the Healthcare Association of Hawaii (HAH) member facilities is being aggregated to assist hospitals with decisions about where to place patients and provide county and state agencies and the federal government with information about where to deploy resources during surges or natural disasters.

“If you get spikes, whether it’s flu, whether it’s some sort of a natural disaster, we got a lot of people showing in a hospital. FEMA can tell from these automated systems now, if other states have them, exactly where they can deploy resources,” said Hilton Raethel, president/CEO of HAH.
